Thirteenth Goblin:
- King named Hero-banner
- Merchant named Jewel, wife named Pleasing and daughter Pearl
- As Pearl grew into a young woman, she had a lot of marriage offers from merchants and even kings. She hated the thought of marriage and her father didn't bring it up to her often.
- Lots of thieves in the city and the people asked the King to do something about it so he set up night watchmen to look
- The watchmen failed and so the King decided to do it himself
- Late one night he saw someone lurking and decided he was the thief that had stolen everything throughout the city and approached him
- The man asked the King who he was and the King replied "a thief".
- The thief said that he was a friend of his then and invited him back to his place
- Once there a serving maid came up to the King and told him he should leave immediately so he did
- He came back with soldiers and the thief knew he had to fight his way out of this
- He killed all of the King's army and the King stepped forward to him himself
- Pearl saw the thief and decided he was the one for her and told her father to try to stop the King from executing him
- He tried to no avail so Pearl decides she is going to die with him
- The executioners killed him and she jumped up onto the pyle to burn herself
- Shiva appeared and said since she was so faithful, she can choose whatever she wants
- She chose for her father to have a hundred sons and Shiva said she can choose another
- She chose for the thief to be healed and when brought back to life be a good man
- He rose and they all went back home to a feast
- King Hero-banner was impressed with him and made him a general
- The thief reformed, married Pearl, and they lived happily ever after
